author’s message

On Thin Ice evolved out of a desire to communicate with young people about serious environmental issues facing our planet. The Polar bear has become a symbol of the adverse effect of human activities on the environment.

What started as one poem in a children&rqsquo;s anthology became an independent work I called an enviro wiro, a snapshot of one iconic animals life in a world of rapid environmental change. In pursuing a message that would be educational to young people, I also followed a desire to bring adults on board identifying with this overwhelmingly important issue. Thus this publication is targeted to be a trendy accessory but responsibly produced in an environmentally friendly way.

The first edition is a not for profit book.

Polar Bears International

A donation has been made to Polar Bears International as an organization that I admire because of its dedication to the survival of the polar bear, its education programmes and the way it is set up so that donated money is used effectively rather than administratively.
